In partnership with the team of coaches at Serevi Rugby we’re bringing another episode of The Breakdown series, showing you tips and tricks for improving your game. Today World Rugby (IRB) Sevens World Series All-Time Points Scorer Ben Gollings focuses on the basics of kicking out of hand.
A well developed kicking game is a necessity in rugby; providing tactical advantages to gain territory on the pitch, used in going forward for scoring tries, drop outs, and many more important phases of the game. Through demonstrations by current USA Eagle halfback Shalom Suniula, Gollings outlines the fundamentals of the Drop Punt - used for accuracy, and Spiral Kick - used for distance.
